MAKING MAY MARVELLOUS

I have always loved the month of May.  When we lived in the states it was a very busy month filled with end of school commitments and events.  The weather was just starting to be consistently warm and the lazy days of summer were right around the corner.  However, here in Australia, May is part of Autumn.  School is in full swing and winter is just on the horizon.  I have learned to embrace life in the Southern Hemisphere, with its opposite seasons.  We are enjoying it by making May Marvellous, here is a re-cap!

We started the month celebrating Mother's Day.  My sweet family took me to High Tea in Mosman overlooking the water.  We welcomed a day where we could chat, drink tea with our pinkies up, of course, and think about what lies ahead in our future.  I was looking through old photos the other day and the girls have grown so much physically and emotionally on this adventure of ours.  They have flourished in so many ways and become true world citizens filled with excitement and respect of other cultures.  I am so proud of them and that they love me.  I feel very blessed to be their mother.  They teach me everyday that change is possible and you should it take-on with a SMILE!
They do love each other sometimes!

Shortly after Mother's Day we spent a few days filled with goodbye playdates (bowling & Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb) as we prepared for our FAVOURITE American expat friends to move home to the states.  They have been that little bit of home that we needed while living down under.  They were the YING to our YANG.  They have all boys that happen to be the perfect balance to our estrogen filled girls.  We got along like family and our lives have been filled with FUN, LAUGHTER and NON-STOP ACTION.  We will miss them for now but, we are quite certain we will see them again - love you Perry Family.
Our bridge climbing bunch - What a cute foursome!

I got a STRIKE baby! - I almost beat DP!
Jane with her two favorite brothers!
Jane ran in the Athletic's Carnival and did great!  She is such a sporty little girl and we sure love her.
Grace sang at the IN-CONCERT at Town Hall and it was a success as usual!  She has a beautiful voice and we are happy to hear it whenever she is willing to fill our house with music.
To cap off May, we headed up to the Hunter Valley for a quick getaway.  It is a stunning rural area of New South Wales filled with vineyards and wide-open space.  We wanted to take the girls up there to just have a few moments to re-set.  It is so easy in life to be pulled in a million directions.  Occasionally we have to disconnect from devices and obligations to make sure that we are able to stay on the same page as a family.  Balance in life is something that we all strive for and trips like this help our family to achieve the balance we are looking to maintain.
